Building Excellence in Remote Teams

What: At the 2022 Remote Teams Summit, you will have the opportunity to network with other professionals who are also managing distributed teams. You’ll hear from experts about topics like:

  • How to build excellence into your distributed team.
  • Best techniques for motivating remote team members.
  • The latest tools for management and communication, both synchronous and asynchronous.

The irony of having an in-person conference for people who work remotely is not lost on us. However, being remote doesn’t mean you never meet your team or peers in-person. Gathering in-person on purpose with purpose to connect with people in similar situations can be eye-opening and liberating.

When: Wed, May 4, 2022 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM MDT

Where: Utah Valley Convention Center, 220 West Center Street
Provo, UT 84601

ROI program student highlight

Hello, my name is Robin Hunt and I live with my husband Tyler Hunt in Green River, Utah. We learned about the ROI program when Jordan Leonard presented about the remote work courses in our community. We are both taking the Certified Remote Work Professional course and have enjoyed learning all the remote work skills and hope that through this course we can get the help we need to obtain higher paying remote jobs!

The top 100 companies for remote jobs in 2022

While there continues to be some resistance to remote work from more traditionally minded managers, more are coming around due to the intensity of labor shortages. It is no longer a question of “if,” but one of “how much” or how many days people can work from home. Nearly every company has done a complete 180 on their attitudes toward remote work.

Most popular TED Talk of 2021: How to stop languishing and start finding flow

Have you found yourself staying up late, joylessly bingeing TV shows and doomscrolling through the news, or simply navigating your day uninspired and aimless? Chances are you're languishing, a psychic malaise that has become all too common after many months of the pandemic.

Partner of the month: Colette Cox

We would like to thank and congratulate Colette Cox, the outreach manager at Dixie State University’s Business Resource Center, who was chosen as our Remote Work Partner of the Month for January 2022. Colette is always helping people connect with the experts and resources they need. Whether in her role with Dixie State University or in her various volunteer positions with the Kanab Help Wanted job board, or Chamber of Commerce, Colette is always going above and beyond to make sure the people she serves find success.

Colette completed the Certified Remote Work Professional course just after the program was developed and has regularly recommended it to others that would benefit from the program.

“The ROI program is amazing and life changing, especially for rural residents! The Certified Remote Work Professional course allows for flexible work schedules while living in scenic rural areas. It also opens up opportunities for higher wage jobs where none are available. The USU ROI program also offers business owners and managers with training on how to lead from a distance with their Certified Remote Work Leader I have been so impressed with Mike Sarles and his colleagues, every referral I have sent to them has had a positive outcome."
